The Protegé Project is an immersive musical theatre training program for the elite young performer. Successful auditionees will work with industry professionals to fine-tune and enhance their performance skills. Workshop sessions with guest tutors will focus on a holistic understanding of the performing arts industry and provide our performers with inspiring and motivating learning experiences. The program has two streams - Pre-Professional Protegés and Petite Protegés.

PETITE PROTEGES

Our Petite Protegé stream is for performers aged 8-12 yrs. Each April holidays we run a few days of workshops for young performers to get a taste of all aspects of Musical Theatre. Workshops involve acting workshops and scene development, dance classes and learning a routine from a musical, vocal sessions working on harmonies and group ensemble numbers. Additionally we include sessions on audition etiquette, performance anxiety, stage craft and other behind-the-scenes topics that support a holistic learning of the Performing Arts industry.

We ran our first Petite Protege program in April 2025 and it was a huge success!

PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROTEGES

Our Pre-Professional Protegé stream is for performers aged 14-18yrs and involves workshops and rehearsals with tutors and industry professionals to produce a musical.

​

Students will rehearse in the style of a professional production, with a three-week intensive rehearsal period. Rehearsal material including scripts and scores will be sent to cast members before rehearsals start so they can learn their content independently ahead of time. The intensive rehearsals will then see students focusing on choreography, direction and vocal notes to collaboratively bring together the show.
